Jane Aho Shearin

Hello, and welcome! My name is Jane, and I was born and raised in Newtown, CT, a classic New England town that I cherish with my whole heart. It was there that, at age 6, I cried during my first audition for 101 Dalmatians, and it was there that I learned the importance of using art as a tool for connection and healing, and the power it has to bring people together.

When I was 10, I realized the capacity theater has to change people's lives and was in awe that I could help others by doing something that I loved so deeply. That was it for me. I went on to pursue a BFA in Musical Theater at the Boston Conservatory, from which I will be graduating in May of 2024.

Were I not a theater artist or in the arts field, I would likely be pursuing law, special education, or librarian studies. I find joy in learning new things and pride in putting my best foot forward and want to be contributing in meaningful ways to the world and people around me. You can always catch me with a book in hand or an audiobook in ear, and I love spending time with kids and animals. Kindness, joy, and humanity are my guiding words, and I emphasize people over products in every facet of life.
